SF/F/H preferences:

Pretty much just SF, but am open to the others. Just starting to write, but have read SF all my life (I am 45). I especially like Space Opera, but enjoy a variety. My favorite authors are Larry Niven, Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, Philip K. Dick, and Vernor Vinge (a recent discovery for me). My favorite SF novel is "The Mote in God's Eye" by Niven.

I am 45 years old. I am an engineer/manager for a US defense contractor, and write quite a bit in my work (not fiction!). I have a BS and an MS degree in Electrical Engineering, and almost got a minor in Technical Communications (I decided against the last course in favor of an engineering class I really wanted). I've wanted to get into writing since high school, and kept putting it off. I finally got started recently writing some short stories, and would like to submit them to some markets like Asimov's and Analog.
