Old Critter submission about Amazons

I couldn't think of a better subject - it is accurate if not elegant.

Three or four years ago, I read a complete book about a teen age girl who discovers her mother had been an Amazon warrior. Mother left the Amazons when she married the girl's father, a human. Amazons show up and take the girl off for training. It's a coming of age novel, fascinating "universe", nice characters.

I wonder if it ever got published, if the writer is still around.

Anybody know anything about it????
