What is wrong with Amazon?

Postby crit27738 » Mon May 07, 2012 10:27 pm

What makes you buy books from anywhere else?

I find new authors and sub-genres at high street stores, and buy familiar ones from Amazon.
It's hard to explore Amazon for new books the same way that you can flick through a bookstore shelf.
Easy enough to find one if you already know the name, or if it thinks you might like it based on past purchases.
But much harder if you want to find Just The Right Book, or something from a less established author.

So, what drives you away from Amazon, and what would you do to fix it?

the only thing I dislike about Amazon is the weakness of its community features. Leave a comment, then try to find your comment again a week or two later. I'd like to see the comment threads in more of a forum format.

There are a hundred things wrong with Amazon, about a hundred and fifty things right.

I like buying used books there. I'd like it more if the minimum price wasn't $3.99 :-)
